Grill chicken halves over indirect heat for 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Turn off the center burners on the Weber grill. Place the chicken halves in the center of the grill and cook for 30 to 40 minutes. Turn the halves over and cook for an additional 30 to 40 minutes, removing them from the heat.On your grill, make sure you’ve got a hot and a cold side. Start by placing your pieces on the hot side and cook them that way for about 5-10 minutes, depending on how large your pieces are and the temperature of the grill. Once they have a sweet golden brown, switch them over to the cool side, and turn them around. Step 1: Preparing the Chicken Wings. Start by rinsing the chicken wings under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. If the wings still have the wingtip attached, you can remove it using a sharp knife or kitchen shears. This helps to ensure even cooking and makes them easier to handle on the grill. Step 3: Grill the Chicken. For a butterflied chicken, cover and grill 25 minutes. Turn chicken over. Cover and grill 25 to 30 minutes more or until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the thigh registers 170°F. Remove chicken from grill and let rest 10 minutes.
Pat the chicken pieces dry with a paper towel, then rub them on all sides with olive oil. Sprinkle the bbq seasoning evenly over the chicken and rub it in until the chicken is completely coated in the seasoning. Preheat one side of the grill to high heat, around 450°F. Do not turn on the other side of the grill.
Place the chicken, standing on the can, directly on the preheated grill on the "cool side" to cook using indirect heat. Close the lid and barbeque the chicken until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, about 1 hour 15 minutes. E3ATj.
