I was seriously beginning to think my Canon EOS R5 camera and RF 24-105mm f/4 lens would never arrive. Sigma Art 50mm f/1.4 lens or my Canon 7D Mark II paired with a of me to extend the EF
Dust and moisture resistant and incorporating Canon's very finest standards of precision optics, the EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM is designed for reportage, event, travel, and celebrity photographers looking for a lightweight and maneuverable lens with minimal image quality compromise.
See my answer for full details. Some of the comparisons were to a review of the EF 28-105 f/3.5-4.5, some were to a review of the 28-105 f3.5-4.5 II. That review said the optics were the same as the original version, the only differences were cosmetic between it and the "II" version which came out in 2000. \$\endgroup\$ –

It is fair to add that the AF in 24-105/4L II is not any slower. Regarding DOF the 24-105 provides more background blur at 105/4 then the 24-70 at 70/2.8. So deciding between these two is really not about which is better (both are equally very good) but how the lens will be used. Canon_Guy's gear list:

24-105 f4. or. 24mm 2.8, 35mm f2, 85mm 1.8 (or 100mm f2) They work out at roughly the same price second hand (around £600 in the UK) which happens to be my absolute budget. Any thoughts on either option? Obviously the 24-105 has the convenience of being all-in-one and more reach, but it's relatively slow compared to the primes mentioned.
