Shroud was my 1st BOSS. I was expecting this to be tough, but not this hard. I entered and immediately got his AOE bomb on my head and died. I then tried for 11 hours (yes you heard me) and failed miserably. It was non stop Root Rot gas explosions no matter where I went and his AOE bomb every 10 seconds. Gorefist and the mushrooms one shot you on Nightmare also. Apocalypse is essentially just a flex difficulty imo. Hard is the "Normal" difficulty, and Nightmare is if you really want to get good at the game quickly. I do like how hard and Nightmare give glowing fragments also (no clue if they do in apocalypse. Never touched the mode yet).
New Game Plus for Remnant: From the Ashes refers to initiating another playthrough. NG+ in Remnant works differently to most games however, as the player can freely re-roll their Campaign at any time, while also separately re-rolling Adventure Mode on any planet. During the first phase, the key to defeating Harsgaard is to play around range. Try to strafe as far away from the boss as possible and start dishing out damage. Starting game on Apocalypse is good challenge and its possible to finish game with fresh character. But you will suffer for sure. If you are really good player, I can recommend to play Nightmare - its fair challenge for skilled players and probably best experience of Remnant at first playthrough imho. Everything is possible.
